On the Run

Sometimes I want to put the city lights on the rear view

Paint the open road on my windshield

See where I end up brand new view brand new shoes

But the ground I cover is never gonna be enough

Feels like a getaway some days are only good enough for one

Ride one time one way tickets for getting out of reacurring crimes

I know I’m guilty as they come

Take my troubles and ease my soul

Take my high heart and lay it low

Take my burdens and all I’ve done

Don’t let me live my life on the run

I’m on the run

I won’t sleep tonight until I know I’ve got it right

If I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take

Take my troubles and ease my soul

Take my high heart and lay it low

Take my burdens and all I’ve done

Don’t let me live my life on the run

I’m on the run
